Smart aliasing

Updated: Jul 7, 2022

Vibration measurements are limited by the Nyquist limit, that is, one can not measure signals beyond the half of the sampling frequency. Signals above the limit get aliased.

Cameras are limited with the rate of acquisition and high-speed cameras can be expensive, large and hard to use. We have developed a novel and state of the art technique that enables measurements above the Nyquist limit, thereby extending the useful range of machine vision cameras that we offer with some of our systems.

Check out https://www.motion-scope.com/smart-aliasing or the video below for more on the developed technique!

Using a shaker, our systems can measure high-frequency response spectra even 10x over the Nyquist limit. All in a single recording.
